Our mother

Our mother

we humans are all free spirits yet are confined by nature within the bodies of mammals; our ability to think creates a kindred spirit amongst members of our species and that spirit is a soul that is the essence of our being.

our bodies confine us – our need for food and water – our desires and wants – and often searching for what may not exist or is not attainable

all living beings are needers yet we humans are also wanters and in our quest for more than we need many of us care little for other than ourselves

we cherish our own lives above those of others and often thoughtlessly kill other forms of life and each other as well, without hesitation or remorse

we ignore our creator which is nature and like to imagine we are not born of nature

Our mother

we imagine we are godlike created by Gods who conveniently look human

Yet all life should be cherished and at the end of human life we once again become one with nature as do all other living creatures

thoughtless ageless and infinite

Mets on roll or rolling dice?

As a Mets fan since 1962 I feel I am experienced enough to make expert evaluations and predictions

This current crop of Mets has a lot of X factors. But pitching isn’t one of them.
They have the depth in both starters and relief pitchers and have a solid minor leagues as back-up.

Ownership is the primary X factor – if for example an injury requires spending money to acquire a suitable replacement to plug an hole.

Duda and Davis will evolve as the season progresses and the weather heats up … add in Wright and Bay and the power department is in good shape.

Murphy is an all star caliber player.

Thole is steady.

And the role players are actually no different than starters in their approach, attitude and most importantly the results they get.

The team has balance in the offensive categories. As for fielding it is above average in the infield and spotty in the outfield.

Reyes left the team without a speed demon but there is adequate speed and we will see some improvement with time.

The over used phrase intangibles is manifested in the unselfish play evident since the start of the season.

There is mental durability, and workman like effort that is evident on a consistent basis.

This team could be another 1969 Mets …. unspectacular yet effective.

There is a spark. Fans must blow on it for it to become a flame.

Do we believe?

I do.

If what I write bothers you, there’s a good chance it’s true! :insight

Our reaction to the truth is often one of anger.

Particularly when we don’t like what we are being made aware of …

Death for example is something we humans continue to deny with religion.

Those who don’t beleive in religious myths are often shunned upon as in the recent spate of anti-atheist and anti-secular attacks launched by the GOTP – supposedly on behalf and at the bequest of christians.

Can anyone say Holy War or Crusades?

This is merely a tactic employed often by the GOTP  - divide the populace 50% – 50%  and after all, the conventional wisdom says a two party system is good for our nation.

What I find frightening about all of this – is that how would we know if we couldn’t be much better with all of us humans just getting along and concentrating on what is good for everyone?!

I think we need only look at the results and clear our minds of the spin to realize the painful truth. Life is not getting better when I have to drink bottled water and turn on an air cleaner to remain healthy and survive. Or be forced to work for others yet make less than it costs to live.

I find the negative reactions to the concept of a unified world and one Government to be bizarre. But then I am reminded that we don’t often think for ourselves or step back and contemplate the merits …. others in the riling minority do that for us.

Big Brotherism is a disease we all have been infected with by the corporate owned, sponsored and managed media.

In fact we each attempt to be each others big brother and we call it freedom of speech.

So what if we lie to one another.

After all  - everything we see and hear on TV is one big meatball of a lie rolled with little pieces of truth thrown in for seasoning.

We have an odd sense of freedom  - allowing some humans to implicitly threaten others by open carrying firearms in public and calling it freedom.

But we all exercise our so called freedoms in similar bizarre ways that actually impinge upon the freedom of the community at large to live free. WE think free and act free – but we don’t live free.

We fight wars for freedom yet the very essence of war is void of freedom … do our young men and women want to die? How many are motivated to join the armed forces by the prospect of dying? Given the absence of other job opportunities what career choices are available as alternatives? Are soldiers just another form of forced labor in a society that subtly guides us all down the same roads decade after decade.

We don’t fight wars to live free … we fight them so that the few in power have the freedom to control humanity.

Laws make suicide illegal yet we smoke cigarettes.

Are young people who smoke therefor breaking the law?

The saying that some people will do anything to make a dime has always been the case with capitalism… except it is just a very few people who buy influence and power and they make much more than a dime!
